President Trump made some pretty big promises Tuesday night during a rally in Orlando. The event marked the official launch of his re-election campaign, and during his nearly 90-minute speech to supporters, Trump vowed that if he gets a second term, "We will come up with the cures to many, many problems, to many, many diseases, including cancer. We will eradicate AIDS in America, and we're very close." Trump also made several false claims, including that he passed the largest tax cut in history — it was the eighth largest, and smaller than two of former President Barack Obama's tax cuts, The Washington Post has noted — and that the unemployment rate has never been lower (it was 3.6 percent in May, but as low as 2.5 percent in 1953).
