How my fantasy of marriage settled into the reality of marriage

Not as many opportunities for champagne, it turns out.

When I was 25, newly engaged, and registering for wedding gifts, I chose two sets of champagne glasses — fancy crystal ones for special occasions, and cheaper ones for everyday use.

Yes, you read that right. In my mind, we'd definitely need everyday champagne glasses, like for Mondays.
